Microdrones VTOL UAV
The Microdrones range of micro UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (<7kg) provide the ultimate in low-level aerial imagery.
Specifically, the MD4-200 was the first “drone” to be adopted by the Emergency Services in the UK. Now supplemented by the MD4-1000, with longer flight time and increased weather resistance, both UAV platforms can be configured to meet the varied demands of urban or open operations.
Endurance of the system is maximised utilising bespoke Lithium Polymer batteries, providing mission times of 20-60 minutes. Minimal environmental impact is guaranteed with noise as low as 63dB @3m from the 4 brushless motors, rendering the system virtually inaudible. At 40-70m operational height the system and in the mid-focus the MD4-200 is almost invisible.
Standard payloads include 12mp Stills, HD1080i widescreen Video, microCCD, Watec LowLight, and Flir Thermal Image.
Further sensors are available on request including air and gas monitors, radiation detectors, GSM jammers, and so on.
With all-up air-mass of 1.2kg - 4.8kg the Microdrones range feature a series of fail-safe systems, including auto-descend.
MW Power provide comprehensive world-side Operational and Product support. In the first instance, Operators are trained in safe deployment of the unmanned aerial system, through a series of classroom, flight simulator and real-world flight scenarios. We are then able to support and/or supplement major events as required alongside 24/7 service.
The Microdrone has seen service ranging from covert Aerial Photography, under RIPA, overt Events Policing and other high-profile operations, targeting anti-social behaviour and cable theft alongside the Fire Ground and to support Firearms activities.
