Emergency Services UAV

Supplied in either Overt Police & Fire spec or Covert CCTV Surveillance spec the Microdrone has been proven to deliver quality aerial photography and live video for Events policing, from the Fire Ground, and from over other ‘targets’.

The Emergency Services has long-desired a low cost ‘view from the air’. This “robot” is the result of an 8 year R&D process, initially based upon on Military operations but more recently focussed on the feedback from our growing number of Emergency Services users.

Merseyside Police - Operation Safespace

In May 2007, Merseyside Police took the bold decision to operate the first MD4-200 on an Evaluation basis. The trial was extended to encourage wide ranging operations and numerous successes were recorded. Their experiences sped the ongoing development of the MD4-1000, ensuring an all-weather rapid response, and encouraging engagement with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Soon after, West Midlands Fire Service took delivery of their system; “ISIS” – Incident Support Imaging System, later adding a FLIR Thermal Imaging camera and being the first to relay live-video to both base station and to their Command and Support Vehicles (CSV). Here the video is compressed and readied for onward transmission in real-time. More recently, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, have procured the system to increase Incident awareness.

British Transport Police have also operated the system, the first such operation provided under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA), as an integral part of Operation Drum. We have also supported a series of nationwide operational trials, NPIA and ACPO conferences and HOSDB events, to increase exposure to other areas of the ‘Emergency Services’.
